Maximum power transfer

This states that the power delivered to a load is a maximum when
the load resistance is equal to the output(thevenin) resistance
of the circuit.
The applet above shows a circuit with output resistance 6/11ohms.
If a resistor R is connected to the circuit at the terminals AB
and R varied then the power dissipated in R is a maximum when R = 6/11ohms.
The maximum tends to be very wide.
